When Boston needs help, Boston turns to Samaritans.

Samaritans is the "go to" hotline for those that are challenged by difficulties of life, feeling isolated, distressed or suicidal. They answer the phone more than 130,000 times a year.

Since the bombings on Marathon Monday, Samaritan call volumes have increased by more than 20%. Samaritans' focus has been on providing uninterrupted service during this difficult time, but the organization needs additional resources to respond to the increase in demand.

Boston needs Samaritans more than ever and Samaritans needs support more than ever. A campaign to raise $7,000 will help Samaritans to answer 1,000 additional calls from Bostonians and others who need help.
